Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

my thoughts on the first few pages I've read, I think that he may have been feeling incredible guilt because due to the fact of not going to visit with his mother more often and probably that's also why he didn't want to see his mother for the last time before the casket was sealed. the way that anybody would mourn over the death of their mother is unknown so i believe that the way that he stayed to himself and just taking in his scenery around him doesn't seem out of the ordinary because as he watched the sky and smelled the air around him i would like to think that his mother is still within his thoughts.but i still am stuck at the fact of why wouldn't he want to see his mother before her casket was sealed?
