Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Meursault spends his Sunday very blah, just like every day. He finds everyday just another day of life, nothing special to it and nothing but a boring day. He seems to describe his days in such a monotone way in which nothing affects him. Like his reactions to his mother dying as well as his neighbor beating his mistress, he showed little to no remorse. He may have been sad about his mothers passing, but he showed no sign of it. It was like the news to him didn't affect him or the rest of his day, besides him having to travel to the funeral. Anybody who has anybody close to them that passes would cry or at least show sadness. Even with his neighbors situation, he didn't say it was wrong or feel bad for a woman being beaten, he actually agreed. He shows no sign of care in the fact that hes been in or seen horrible situations. I would think of him as being a very emotionless person, meaning like i said before nothing affects him and everyday is just another day no matter what happens. Describing the weather or waiting for the bus the same way you would describe your mothers passing, shows a person with a very careless attitude and someone who consistently performs unnatural behavior.
