- What relation does forgiveness have to do with healing? With justice?
To be able to move on from a traumatic experience or any type of wrong doing, you as a person must be able to forgive whoever did you wrong. You can never move on if you continuously dwell on whatever wrong doing has been done to you. No matter how much you can say you're over it, the fact that you never forgave that person is always going to leave some type of animosity in you towards that person. You can only move on and heal if you open your heart to someones apology. Even if that person didn't directly apologize to you, its good to know that you have forgiven them and it would be like a weight lifted from your heart. In Picking Cotton, Ronald is convicted for a crime he didn't do, and even though he had to serve time for that crime, he still found it in his heart to forgive Jennifer. Thought from Jennifer's stand point she got the right person convicted, If he didn't forgive her she probably wouldn't have been able to forgive herself.................
