Significance of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is significant for Ronald Cotton because rather than spending his life angry with Jennifer and clinging on to bitterness, he took control over a horrible situation and decided to finally be happy. In order to do so Ronald had to forgive Jennifer. For someone to be able to genuinely forgive another person for pointing a finger that sent them to prison and losing years of their life takes not only someone with a big heart but courage and maturity. For Jennifer Ronald's forgiveness may not have allowed her to lose all the guilt of sending an innocent man to prison but it is a beautiful thing to see how they turned this awful traumatic event that tied them together into friendship.
