Reaction to This Week's Reading

During this week's reading of Picking Cotton we as the readers got to know Ronald Cotton and his perspective and many aspects in particular stood out to me. One being the shift of emotions Ronald goes through. When the chapter starts, Ronald is angry at how unfair this is, he was innocent and they didn't even give him the chance to prove himself. He quickly shifts from anger to hopelessness, is he ever going to get out of there? Will they ever find the true rapist? He resigns to just surviving the best he can in his prison confines saying that it doesn't matter what anyone else says, he knows he's innocent. He then quickly shifts to determination to get out of prison and find the true rapist. This reading in particular was my favorite so far because it explored the facets of human nature.
