A notice From the office of reclamation

I think that this flash fiction is a little ironic in the sense that the title is a "notice" from a public office. The notice is to prevent people from attending or visiting any mining site but yet the are kind of subliminally making people want to go using their own curiosity against them. The writing in this letter states at one point 
" You know the passage was safe once. Then you start wondering: what's it like inside, just beyond the reach of sunlight?, etc" (Wiley 1)
Why would they even mention it like this? They get fairly descriptive. The purpose of this flash fiction I think is to show that no matter how much you tell people not to do something they do it anyways. That or they show the power of subliminal messages and how it's easy to get people to do what they want just by telling them not to do it. Overall I think that this flash fiction was very interesting because it made me curious. It made me question, what could be there, or what was left behind?

    Also, doesn't the last line suggest that the speakers have ulterior motives? Great response.
