Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Contrast of Perspectives

During this week's reading I noticed one aspect in particular, how the theme of freedom relates to both Jennifer and Ronald. They both are struggling to escape the past and the mark it has over them. As readers we get to see how much this has an impact on them, Jennifer will always remember what has happened to her, she is forever physically and mentally scarred, haunted. While Ronald is trapped in an unwanted fate and a society that did not want to believe his innocence. They both go through a variety of emotions as they try to come to terms with what they've been though. This recent reading in particular shines a light on the parallel and contrast of their point of view.
