Richard III and what he did vs real life and Picking Cotton

  I would like to post something about last week's reading and what we discussed about it during class.  Last week we all discussed what Richard did and why he put two of his brothers in jail for what he had done.  And we were given facts about him and the time period in which the play/book was written.  We also spent time having a class discussion about our thoughts of why Richard did what he did of committing the crime of killing someone, and then he decides to blame the crime on someone who is innocent for his own benefit.  I believe, that Richard did this because he has no remorse for what he did and he also doesn't believe he committed something wrong.  Instead to be seen as someone good and someone who wont do such a thing, he decides to blame his faults on innocent people and make them pay for something they did not do.  This not only happens in the play with Richard but it happens in many novels and also in real life.  It happened in Picking  Cotton with Jennifer Thompson's rape and the wrongful paying of Ronald Cotton. When Ronald had to wrongfully pay for the crime of rape when he did not even do it and he had to serve years in jail, years that he wont get back.  This also happens here in todays time, many get accused of crimes they did not even commit and they pay so many years in prison, being innocent for so many years and once they are free they cant get those years they spent in jail back.
