Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Mission Trail- Jennifer Lagier

Mission Trail- Jennifer Lagier
For My Father

In this poem I think the author presented this poem to talk about how the final morning was like when her father was about dead. The poet describe the environment of a canyon track that she follows and describe the tress mostly using different stanzas of the poem Since the trial was damp the next stanza of the poem stated the run off the down hill was rainy and there were tress (an evergreen coniferous tree with small, rounded, woody cones and flattened shoots bearing small, scalelike leaves) that had broken stems. From reading the poem you can also be able to imagine the image of the tress with the broken limbs, the compost corn lilies, mushrooms, monterey pine and decomposing trunks that were there. It was like a mission (adventure) she was going on and then she called her father to tell him about her adventure since he could not walk. I also think her father was old since he could not walk that is  why he passed away.
