Ghost cleans Himself Up Before Visiting the Monument of the War Dead

The dead guy is getting ready to go to his own grave. So we believe that the person is a ghost. He is really descriptive about how he shaves and how his eyes are now different color.  Before they were blue and now its grey which shows life to death. some images that i imagined while reading this was a ghost shaving and the guy all sad and full of remorse.I really didn't see the plot because my definition of a plot is the main event and this feels like a part of a lager story but not the main event.
