She is the daughter who is describing nature for his father after he died. she is describing the trees and how they get fertilized may be she is connecting the fertilizing of the trees to her fathers dead body, that how the body also have been decomposed. 

What is the tone of this speakers voice?

The tone of the speaker is little confusing as she is writing this in the memory of her father and she is describing the nature for her father who may have not got the opportunity to be in this kind of nature and wasn't able to experience it.
